Galdive "Bloom"

In midnight blue.

There’s this younger, cooler, female version of IP’S PICKS in the form of woman on Instagram named Baylee Lefton. She has almost 400k followers, and she posts reels where she shares her favorite songs from different playlists she makes, nodding along to tracks with her eyes closed and offering brief but effective commentary. She seems to be blowing up more and more, as I saw her post today had her holding a branded UPROXX mic.

Now, I can’t say I am a huge fan of all the songs she posts about. I imagine those of you following along here on IP’S PICKS feel the same about some of the stuff I post. But! I feel like Baylee and I have similar tastes in laidback music with chill vibes, so I consistently check for her reels. And her playlists have mad shit on them, too.

In this case, I was struck by Indonesian duo Galdive’s 2025 single “Teach Me How To Love,” which she featured in a recent post recapping her Top 5 Spotify Wrapped songs of the year. Super fuego.

The harmonies on that sample, the lead singer’s silky voice, the fly melodies, the ill drum pattern. I was all in on Galdive after one song, and had to see what else they had poppin’.

Now, I haven’t done a full exploration of their catalog just yet, but man, this song “Bloom” hit me beautifully earlier this morning when I was driving around listening to their album Blue. I haven’t been sprung off a new artist discovery like this in a minute.
