Black Moon “Murder MC’s”
That’s when all the madness stops.
My man Max asked for someone to “put on Black Moon please” after he dropped an Elton John and Dua Lipa pop hit during yesterday’s PICKS POSSE post. To reiterate, all genres are welcome in PICKS POSSE posts! But, as requested, I will step in to calibrate.
In 1994, Black Moon released their “Buck Em Down” single, which was a smoothed-out, Beatminerz remix version of the popular album cut. From the verses to the chorus, Buckshot was noticeably more laidback on the track than the original—he even took on the persona of a comforting flight captain on the intro to welcome listeners to the remix before takeoff, leaving his rugged flow behind as he cruised at 31,000 feet on the updated version.
Then, on the previously unreleased B-side “Murder MC’s,” Buckshot maintained his tone from the “Buck Em Down” remix while still applying pressure over an organ-laced instrumental. And to connect to the A-side’s “Wind Parade” flip, they opened things up with yet another Donald Byrd sample from his classic Places and Spaces LP. The drums on this joint drop so hard, too.
IP’S PICK OF THE DAY 2/16/26: Black Moon “Murder MC’s”
Here’s an additional gem of a Black Moon B-side, as heard on another smoothed-out Enta Da Stage album cut remix single (which came out before “Buck Em Down”), the “I Got Cha Opin” Beatminerz remix. This shit knocks as well.
I’ve got two more related bonuses for you. First, a Boot Camp deep cut I recently revisited that I love, featuring Illa Noyz and Sean Price. Yo, Illa Noyz was nice! Still is, too.
And to end things off, a Heltah Skeltah freestyle featuring an appearance by Buckshot, live from the Netherlands. This shit is so fire, and also fun. Props to Dutch producers Soulsearchin’ on the beat. Watch the video and/or stream the audio below.

That’s it for tonight! Long Live Sean Price!
Peace!
